Argüden Governance Academy is a foundation dedicated to improve quality of governance in public, non‑profit, private, and international organizations.

A sustainable and inclusive future can only be built by institutions that gain the trust of their stakeholders.

People form institutions for more effective utilization of resources and management of risks. The Academy supports approaches to build trust for institutions by bringing together world-class expertise, adopting a holistic view of governance across institutions, and forming partnerships in order to improve quality of life for current and future generations.

We developed a young-oriented training program:
GOV101 Training

GOV101 increases the awareness of good governance culture amongst the university students, who are the leaders of today and the future to provide behavioral change. GOV101 provide students’ participation to the Program and adopt the philosophy of good governance for improving quality of life.

During the Program lasted 14 hours, we organize 7 meetings and we talk about the good governance and its principles by using real-life stories. We also aim the relationship between success and good governance culture to be experienced by attendants.

Attendants experience the good governance both doing practices during the Program and after the Program, they do practices with their friends. These practices help to adopt the good governance culture in their daily life.

As the attendants improve their leadership skills with the help of the good governance culture, they also learn value creation cycle, strategy management, volunteer management, performance evaluation, process management, organization and integrated reporting.

The first GOV101 Training Programme was held on 12 October – 28 November 2019 in cooperation with Educational Volunteers Foundation of Türkiye (TEGV), Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) and sahibinden.com and it was free of charge for students.

28 students from 12 different universities graduated from the first GOV101 Training Programme by the help of instructors Dr. Yılmaz Argüden, Pınar Ilgaz, Sait Tosyalı, Didem Bilgin, Pınar Gündüz, Mehmet Bahadır Teke and Dr. Fatma Öğücü Şen.

In 2020, we are going to hold GOV101 Training Programs in the periods of March–April and October–November. Our target is to reach 200 students by GOV101 in 2020.

Youth Network for Good Governance

Youth Network is organized for GOV101 Graduates in order to sustainability of the Program and other youth-oriented activities.

Youth Network Members share their experiences to each other because “Knowledge increase when shared. ” Trainings, seminars and meetings will be organized for members of Youth Network.

Members may have responsibilities on Youth Network by taking part as a mentor, a university ambassador or a Board Member.

Youth Network started its activities with 35 members and 27 volunteers. We hope to have 150 more volunteers in 2020.
